A Touch of Saige Events and I wanted to put our heads together to put on a styled elopement that could inspire couples to think outside of the box on their elopement day. It doesn’t always have to look like running to the wilderness, sometimes it can look like running away to a carnival! That’s the beauty of eloping: it can look however you want it to! This Alaska State Fair collaboration styled shoot was the MOST fun session and it was so great to come together with local Alaska wedding vendors and fair vendors alike and make some magic!
Alaska State Fair Vendors
We wanted the carnival theme to be apparent in all of the details, from the colors, the incorporation of fair goodies, and out of the box decor and attire! We also really wanted to incorporate classic/staple Alaska State Fair Vendors like Aunt Linda’s Funnel Cakes, Becky’s Kettle Korn and Cathy’s Candy Cabin among others. It was awesome to showcase them in a different way outside of their usual booth space in this wedding setting.
The funnel cake wedding cake was my favorite part I think!! It is a unique spin on the wedding cake tradition. I do highly recommend eating it hot though. Like cook that sucker, cut it, and eat it haha!
The entire theme was very nostalgic as a whole as well as many of us participating had been to the Alaska State Fair many times growing up and as adults. Super special.
Elopement Inspiration
I hope you enjoy this inspiration! Ultimately, your wedding day is all about you and your honey so make it about that! Have your favorite foods and drinks, have all the colors or neutrals, have all the things that would make you both the MOST happy. Don’t be afraid to add a little nostalgia as well. Happy planning!
Marin and Garrett were the perfect couple for this very unique theme because they loved the colors, face glitter, and fair hair!
All in all, this carnival-themed elopement was pretty much a whole dream and I highly recommend thinking outside of the box if that suits you and your honey’s style!
