When Blake reached out to me about a surprise proposal to his girlfriend at the top of the tram at Alyeska Resort, I was so freaking psyched! They were visiting Alaska to get some skiing and adventuring in to celebrate their 8th anniversary (how sweet is that?!). Blake reached out to me about a week prior and we started ironing out all details and trying to figure out how to set this up without cluing her in. He wanted it to be epic and scenic and just totally amazing, and it was fixing to be just that! Leading up to the day we started worrying that the weather was going south, so much that we almost reconsidered Alyeska. Thankfully, we persevered and it was so worth it!

The Surprise Proposal

On the day of the proposal, Blake’s nerves were skyrocketing and Audri was blissfully unaware of the situation. However, she was slightly confused when Blake took her to the top of Alyeska and started walking snow trails in their nice dinner outfits. The snow was deep and she was in heels. I scrambled to find a good vantage point as they walked and tried to remain unseen as he knelt. In the meantime, the adrenaline was pumping and we were on top of the world.

The cloud cover parted at just the right time and the sunlight above the fog made everything look incredibly beautiful. Let me just say that when you add a cute couple to that scenery you get magic!

Needless to say, we succeeded in our efforts! She said yes, and they are happily engaged and planning their wedding in the lower 48!
